James Rice Tabbed as Quakers Assistant Baseball Coach

(WILMINGTON, Ohio) – The Wilmington College baseball team announced today the hiring of their new Assistant Baseball Coach, James Rice. He will immediately join the staff for the 2024 season alongside Quakers head coach Barry Craddock.

Rice was a five-year member of the Mount Aloysius College baseball team in Cresson, Pennsylvania. As a Mountie, he appeared in 59 career games, making 22 starts.

Rice graduated from Mount Aloysius with a bachelor's degree in sports management in 2022. He earned his master's degree during the 2022-23 academic year while competing in his final baseball season. He graduated with his master's degree from Mount Aloysius in general business.

"I am very excited for this opportunity to be a part of the Wilmington College baseball program and to work with coach Craddock while starting my coaching career here at Wilmington", said Rice. "I am eager to get started and to work with this group of guys and to continue to help the baseball program grow and improve here at Wilmington. Go Quakers!"

Rice is a native of Leechburg, Pennsylvania and went to Greensburg Central Catholic High School. While there, he played four years of baseball, basketball, and football.

The Quakers baseball team is scheduled to begin their 2024 season with a doubleheader at Centre College in Danville, Kentucky on Saturday, February 17th.
