WILMINGTON, Ohio - The Wilmington College women's soccer team travels to Marietta on Saturday to take on the Pioneers at 7 p.m.

The Teams: Wilmington and Marietta. Wilmington (6-7-0, 0-4-0) is currently working through a five-game losing streak due in no small part to injury woes with key players. Marietta (3-7-1, 2-2-0) started Ohio Athletic Conference (OAC) play well with two victories but have lost its past two matches.

The Coaches: Nick Kinder, a 2010 alumnus and four-year member of the men's soccer program, enters his first year as head women's soccer coach. He has spent the last four seasons as the program's top assistant coach including the last six weeks leading the program on an interim basis following the retirement of 30-year Head Coach Steve Spirk. He is just the fifth head coach in the 37-year history of the program as a varsity sport. Sean Kaighin begins his fourth season as head women's soccer coach at Marietta College in 2022. He is the ninth head coach in program history. Kaighin joined the Marietta College staff as assistant women's soccer coach just prior to the start of the 2018 season. He served as interim head coach for three months overseeing recruiting and strength and conditioning training before being named as head coach in February of 2019.

The Players: Alex Wilson has sustained her hot start and scored the lone Quaker goal, her sixth of the season, in the 2-1 defeat vs Otterbein. Elizabeth Matthews has stepped up in her role and provided some scoring punch with three goals and two assists. Melissa Szawranskyj leads the Pioneer attack with three goals and one assist.
