Women's Soccer Looks to Build on Wednesday's Result at Anderson on Saturday

WILMINGTON, Ohio - The Wilmington College women's soccer team continues its road trip Saturday as the Fightin' Quakers take on the Ravens of Anderson University at 12:30.

The Teams: Wilmington and Anderson. The Quakers are now 1-1-0 after their stellar offensive performance against Hiram on Wednesday. The Ravens are 1-0-1 this season and will have their first home match of the year on Saturday.

The Coaches: Nick Kinder, a 2010 alumnus and four-year member of the men's soccer program, enters his first year as head women's soccer coach. He has spent the last four seasons as the program's top assistant coach including the last six weeks leading the program on an interim basis following the retirement of 30-year Head Coach Steve Spirk. He is just the fifth head coach in the 37-year history of the program as a varsity sport. Jennifer Myhre enters the 2022-23 season in her 12th season as the Ravens' women's soccer coach. Over the past years, Myhre has elevated the team and their impact on and off the field. The 2019 season continued the program's best stretch, with 4 straight winning seasons and the fewest losses for the program.

The Players: Freshman Alex Wilson leads the Quakers with two goals this season. Maddie Scott and Shannon Jameison have each netted one goal. Goalkeeper Lauren Galloway has allowed one goal on the season to a penalty kick. Anderson goalkeeper Adrienne Weyers has allowed a single goal in each of the first two matches.

Series History: The Quakers enjoy a 5-1-3 series lead over the Ravens, however, Wilmington has recorded a draw and a loss in the most recent two matches. More information on the series history can be viewed by visiting the link above.
