Men's Lacrosse to Honor Seniors Saturday as John Carroll University Comes to Town

WILMINGTON, Ohio - The Wilmington College men's lacrosse team (2-9, 0-3) will face the John Carroll University Blue Streaks (10-1, 4-0) Saturday at 1:00 in Williams Stadium. A small ceremony honoring the Wilmington seniors will be held immediately before the first face-off.

The Teams: Wilmington and John Carroll. Wilmington was defeated in their most recent contest against the Fightin' Muskies of Muskingum University. John Carroll University has won four straight and will be looking to remain undefeated in conference and keep their stranglehold on first place in the Ohio Athletic Conference.

The Coaches: Wilmington has new leadership in the form of Head Coach Garyck Todd. The 2016 WC alumnus was a four-year member of the program and was a part of the team's first winning season (9-7) in 2015. He previously served as the head coach at Pickerington Central High School for the past three seasons. In his first five seasons as head coach, Rautenstrauch led the Blue Streaks to a combined 56-20 (29-5 OAC) record, earning four OAC Tournament Championships and four automatic bids to the NCAA Tournament.

The Players: Austin Young leads the Quaker offense with 14 goals, he has been held scoreless the past two games and will look to get back to his scoring ways this Saturday. Matt Berdysiak and Kevin Hack have combined for a scorching 57 goals this season. Quaker goalkeeper, freshman Cody Everly, will have his hands full this Saturday. 

Series History: Wilmington and John Carroll. Wilmington has yet to defeat John Carroll. The Quakers are 0-7 all-time against the Blue Streaks.
