Men's Lacrosse Falls to Mount Vernon Nazarene 15-2

WILMINGTON, Ohio - The Wilmington College men's lacrosse team allowed only two goals in the first quarter, but the offense was ultimately unable to keep pace with Mount Vernon Nazarene. The Cougars defeated the Quakers by a final score of 15-2.
 
The Mount Vernon Nazarene Cougars were held to just two goals in the opening quarter of Monday night's game. The Cougars offense started clicking in the second quarter as they would shoot 11 times and score five. Wilmington would head to halftime down 7-0.
 
The third quarter again saw the Wilmington defense play well as they allowed just a single goal. Austin Young found the back of the net for Wilmington for his 11th goal of the season. In a repeat of the first half, the fourth quarter saw the Cougar offense hit their stride once again as they scored seven goals in the final frame. Justen Shaw would score late for Wilmington continuing his streak of games with a goal scored. Mount Vernon Nazarene would go on to win the game 15-2.

Up next, Wilmington (2-6) will open OAC play this Saturday against the Heidelberg Student Princes (0-6) in Williams Stadium at 1 p.m.
