Men's Lacrosse Falls to Anderson 17-3

ANDERSON, Indiana - The Wilmington College men's lacrosse team shut out Anderson University in the second quarter, but were unable to capitalize as Anderson University extended the lead in the third and walked away with a 17-3 victory on Wednesday evening.
 
The first half got off to a rocky start as Wilmington was down 4-0 before they could get settled. Justen Shaw scored with two minutes left in the first quarter to put the Quakers on the board.
 
Wilmington put together a hugely impressive second quarter. The Quaker defense did not allow a goal in the second quarter. Justen Shaw and Austin Young scored for the quakers. At the half, the Quakers narrowly trailed by a score of 5-3.
 
Anderson came out firing on all cylinders in the second half and quickly outpaced the Quakers. Wilmington would not score in the second half and were defeated by a final score of 17-3.
 
Justen Shaw was involved in all three goals on the evening bringing his point total on the season to a team leading 16.
 
Wilmington returns home to face Mount Vernon Nazarene in Williams Stadium at 1 p.m. on Saturday.
