Doherty & Swensen Join Men's Lacrosse Coaching Staff

WILMINGTON, Ohio – Wilmington College Head Men's Lacrosse Coach Garyck Todd has announced the hiring of two volunteer assistant coaches on Wednesday. Camden Doherty will join the program as the offensive coordinator while Zachery Swensen will assist Todd with various aspects of the program.

Doherty comes to Wilmington from Hilliard where he served the city as a maintenance technician while also coaching as a varsity assistant at Hilliard Bradley High School. As a Jaguar, he coordinated the offense as well as coordinated the lifting and offseason workout programs and held film sessions with players. Doherty has also worked at Big Walnut High School and interned with The Ohio Machine, a professional lacrosse team. He's a Wilmington College alumnus with a degree in sport management.

"Cam is an exceptional coach with a great offensive mind for the game," said Todd. "We've coached against each other for the past five seasons, and I couldn't be more excited to finally have him on my staff. There's no doubt he will be instrumental in taking our offense to the next level."

Swensen comes to WC from ProTool Service where he's been a service technician for over two years. He is also a WC almnus and a starter for the Fightin' Quakers' first lacrosse teams from 2013-16. A graduate of Milford High School, Swenson was a part of two OHSAA state tournament teams.

"Zach is a great person and brings the positive energy to the team every day," Todd said. "He helps us see certain situations from a different perspective and always has valuable input regarding game and practice planning. Zach will be an asset to the staff for years to come."

Wilmington opens its 2022 season on Feb. 23.
