Men's Lacrosse Defeated at Marietta 20-15 in Season Finale

MARIETTA, Ohio - The Wilmington College men's lacrosse team concluded its 2019 season with a 20-15 loss at Marietta College in an Ohio Athletic Conference (OAC) contest on Saturday afternoon.

Junior attacker Jadon Flannery led the way for the Fightin' Quakers with seven goals, marking his highest single-game total of the season. It was not enough as Marietta jumped out to a 5-1 lead after the first quarter and rode that to victory.
 
Wilmington won the the final two quarters by one-goal (4-3) and two-goal (6-4) margins, but the Quakers couldn't overcome the 13-5 halftime deficit. Andrew Miller found Connor Judge for the a goal midway through the fourth quarter to get within five. 90 seconds later, Miller scored unassisted putting the visitors down 18-14, but consecutive goals from Marietta put the game away.
 
The Quakers improved in all other stats compared to their season average, winning 30 ground balls and shooting over 30 times for the game. Marietta won 29-of-38 face-offs and grabbed 52 ground balls.
 
Individually, Flannery scored seven times on eight shots on goal while both Judge and Miller finished with hat tricks. Connor Ficke and Quinn Rundgren both scored six goals on nine shots for Marietta.
 

Wilmington finishes its 2019 season with a 2-14 overall record and an 0-9 mark in OAC play.
