Men's Lacrosse Ousted at Otterbein 23-5

WESTERVILLE, Ohio - Otterbein University scored the game's first 17 goals in a 23-5 victory over the Wilmington College men's lacrosse team in Ohio Athletic Conference (OAC) action on Wednesday evening.

The Cardinals scored first and never looked back as they took a commanding 14-0 lead before heading into the locker room for the half. A slew of Cardinals led the way in the first half, as nine different attackers scored on the Quaker defense, including Travis Barr's back-to-back goals to end the first quarter and one more to start the second quarter.

The Quakers would not quit though, as the held the Cardinals to only four goals in the third quarter and got their own offense going as Flannery scored two of his first three goals. Additionally, Wilmington went 4-for-4 on clear attempts.Austin Young would open the fourth quarter with an unassisted goal in the first two minutes. Otterbein would go on to add four more goals before Wilmington could score its last two in the last five minutes of the game. 

Otterbein outshot Wilmington 60-21 in the game as well as winning 22-of-32 face-offs. Reed Beavers contributed a dozen saves in the loss for the Quakers.

Wilmington dips to 2-7 overall and 0-3 in the OAC with the loss. The Quakers will take on Baldwin Wallace University (8-2, 2-1 OAC) as they return home this Saturday, March 6. Game time is scheduled for 1 p.m. at Williams Stadium.
