Men's Lacrosse Heads to Marietta for Season Finale on Saturday

WILMINGTON, Ohio – The Wilmington College men's lacrosse team concludes its 2019 season with an Ohio Athletic Conference (OAC) contest at Marietta College on Saturday. First face-off is scheduled for 1 p.m.

The Teams: Wilmington and Marietta. The Fightin' Quakers are 2-12 while the Pioneers stand at 5-10 on the year. Wilmington is winless in OAC competition while Marietta recently defeated Muskingum University 21-9 for its first OAC triumph of the season.

The Coaches: Jeff Arneson is in his second year leading the Wilmington men's lacrosse program. Prior to leading the Quakers to a 5-9 record last season, Arneson, a Wilmington High School alumnus, spent six seasons as head coach at Thiel College (Pennsylvania). Shawn Runyon, formerly an assistant at Gettysburg College, is in his first year leading the Pioneers' men's lacrosse program.

The Players: Connor Judge and Andrew Miller have been Wilmington's top offensive duo as both have tallied at least 30 points this season. Judge leads the way with 30 goals while Miller has dished out 14 assists. Zac Chutca and Jadon Flannery have both netted over a dozen goals. Mike Smith leads the squad in both ground balls (63) and face-offs (72). A trio of Pioneers – Quinn Rundgren, Connor Ficke and Chad Stowell – have all tallied over 40 points for Marietta. Daniel Blaine has a team-high 86 ground balls.

Series History: This game will be the first meeting between the two schools as Marietta is in its first year holding the sport at the varsity level.
