Men's Lacrosse Defeated at Ohio Northern in OAC Opener

ADA, Ohio – The Wilmington College men's lacrosse team dropped its Ohio Athletic Conference (OAC) opener at Ohio Northern University, falling 26-2 on Saturday afternoon.

The Polar Bears scored the game's first 14 goals including leading 10-0 after the first quarter. Mike Smith got the Fightin' Quakers on the board with an unassisted goal 90 seconds before halftime.

The third quarter was similar to the first as Ohio Northern scored the period's only eight goals. Jadon Flannery opened the fourth quarter with an unassisted goal, but it wouldn't spark Wilmington's offense as the Polar Bears netted the final four goals of the game.

ONU held a 62-4 advantage in shots as well as winning 26-of-32 face-offs. The Polar Bears also grabbed 45 ground balls compared to 30 for the Quakers.

Wilmington travels to Anderson University on Saturday.
