Men's Lacrosse Travels to Thiel on Wednesday

WILMINGTON, Ohio - The Wilmington College men's lacrosse team return to action this Wednesday as it heads to Greenville, Pennsylvania, to take on Thiel College for a 7 p.m. contest.

The Teams: Wilmington and Thiel. The Fightin' Quakers are currently 1-2 after beating Earlham College 14-18 last Saturday in a Quaker Bowl Rivalry game at Williams Stadium. The Tomcats are 2-2 after beating Ohio Athletic Conference (OAC) foe, Marietta College, 16-10 at home.

The Coaches: Jeff Arneson is in his second year leading the Wilmington men's lacrosse program. Prior to leading the Quakers to a 5-9 record last season, Arneson, a Wilmington High School alumnus, spent six seasons as head coach at Thiel. TJ Bardsley is in his second season as the head coach of Thiel's men's lacrosse team.

The Players: Wilmington has turned to Conner Judge after its first three games. Judge leads the Quakers, posting team high stats in several categories - 14 goals and 17 points on 33 shots - giving him a 42.4 shot percentage so far this season. Andrew Miller leads the team in assists and is tied in goals scored with teammate Jadon Flannery at 5 each so far this season. The Tomcats have four players that have scored five or more goals this season. JJ Raab leads the team with 10 goals and 11 points on 36 shots so far for a .278 shot percentage.

Coaching Connection: Wilmington Head Coach Jeff Arneson spent seven seasons (2011-17) as Thiel's head men's lacrosse coach.

Series History: Wilmington is 0-2 in program history against Thiel with the Tomcats winning in both 2013 and 2014. Ironically, both of those games were won by Jeff Arneson, the then-head coach at Thiel. More information on those games can be viewed by visiting the link above.
