Men's Lacrosse Hosts Capital on Senior Night

WILMINGTON, Ohio – The Wilmington College men's lacrosse team hosts league-leading Capital University for an Ohio Athletic Conference (OAC) contest at Williams Stadium on Wednesday. The Senior Night contest is slated to begin at 7 p.m.

The Teams: Wilmington and Capital. The Fightin' Quakers are 2-11 overall and still in search of their first conference win after a 17-5 defeat at the hands of the University of Mount Union on Friday. The Crusaders, after losing their season-opener 8-7 in overtime, have rattled off 13 consecutive victories including an 11-9 triumph at Ohio Northern University on Friday.

The Coaches: Jeff Arneson is in his second year leading the Wilmington men's lacrosse program. Prior to leading the Quakers to a 5-9 record last season, Arneson, a Wilmington High School alumnus, spent six seasons as head coach at Thiel College (Pennsylvania). Dom Marzano, who started the Wilmington men's lacrosse program, is in his second season leading the Crusaders.

The Players: Connor Judge and Andrew Miller have been Wilmington's top offensive duo as both have tallied at least 30 points this season. Judge leads the way with 29 goals while Miller has dished out 14 assists. Mike Smith leads the squad in both ground balls (60) and face-offs won (69). CJ Hughes leads the way for Capital with 50 goals and 22 assists for 72 total points. Ryan Rampi has also crossed the 30-goal plateau for the Crusaders.

Senior Night: The game represents the final home game in the careers of both Mike Smith and Eric Wathen. A brief ceremony will be held prior to the game.
