WILMINGTON, Ohio - The Wilmington College men's basketball team hits the road for an Ohio Athletic Conference (OAC) contest at Heidelberg University on Saturday afternoon. Tip-off from Seiberling Gymnasium is scheduled for 3 p.m.

The Teams: Wilmington and Heidelberg. The Fightin' Quakers are 7-11 on the season and 5-6 in OCA play after defeating the Ohio Northern University 88-69 on Wednesday. The Student Princes mirror Wilmington's record both overall and in the conference. The Berg most recently fell to Baldwin Wallace University 70-67 in Berea.

The Coaches: K.C. Hunt is in his 13th season as head coach of Wilmington's men's basketball program. Hunt, who has coached two All-Americans and seven of the school's 1,000-point scorers, led the Quakers to OAC Tournament titles in 2010 and 2014. He garnered Great Lakes Region Coach of the Year honors for guiding Wilmington to OAC Tournament title and a win in the NCAA Division III Tournament in 2010. Andy Bucheit, a former Marietta College assistant and alumnus of Wittenberg University, is in his seventh season as Heidelberg's head coach.

The Players: A quartet of Wilmington individuals – Jeffery Mansfield, DaeShawn Jackson, Abdul Kanu and Colin Myers – all score in double figures while Mansfield leading the team at 18.8 points per game. The four, who also all grab over four rebounds per contest, account for 75 percent of the team's scoring. Payton Smith dishes out over four assists per game. A trio of Student Princes – Tamal Watkins, Dylan Woods and Alex Arellano – score in double figures. Prince Benson leads the squad in rebounding at 6.8 boards per contest.

Tale of the Tape: Points per game – Wilmington 75.6, Heidelberg 68.9; opponents' points per game – Wilmington 77.4, Heidelberg 69.6; field goal percentage – Wilmington 44.4, Heidelberg 41.9; three-point percentage – Wilmington 32.8 Heidelberg 34.8; free throw percentage – Wilmington 68.5, Heidelberg 71.7; rebounds per game – Wilmington 34.1, Heidelberg 34.5; assist-to-turnover ratio – Wilmington 1.09, Heidelberg 0.90.

Streaking: Jeffery Mansfield has made 30 consecutive free throws.

Recent History: Wilmington is 20-21 against Heidelberg since joining the OAC prior to the 2001-02 season. The Quakers have won the last four meetings, however, including a 71-69 win at Hermann Court on Dec. 7, 2019. More information on the series history can be viewed by visiting the link above.
