WILMINGTON, Ohio - The Wilmington College men's basketball team suits up for one final time in the 2019 calendar year on Wednesday when the Fightin' Quakers conclude non-conference play at Olivet College (Michigan) on Wednesday evening. Tip-off from the Cutler Athletic Complex is scheduled for 3 p.m.

The Teams: Wilmington and Olivet. The Quakers enter the game with a 3-6 record having fallen at the University of Mount Union 84-74 on the road on Saturday. The Comets are 1-5 and have not played since falling 96-63 at the University of Wisconsin-Platteville on Dec. 8.

The Coaches: K.C. Hunt is in his 13th season as head coach of Wilmington's men's basketball program. Hunt, who has coached two All-Americans and seven of the school's 1,000-point scorers, led the Quakers to OAC Tournament titles in 2010 and 2014. He garnered Great Lakes Region Coach of the Year honors for guiding Wilmington to OAC Tournament title and a win in the NCAA Division III Tournament in 2010. Sam Hargraves is in his first season as Olivet's head coach. He previously spent the last eight seasons at fellow Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association (MIAA) member Alma College and led the Scots to an "Elite Eight" appearance.

The Players: A trio of Quakers – Jeffery Mansfield, DaeShawn Jackson and Abdul Kanu – all score in double figures including Mansfield's 19.9 points per game that lead the team. DaeShawn Jackson, who scored 16.4 points per game, leads the team in rebounding at 5.3 boards per game. Payton Smith dishes out a team-best 4.3 assists per game. Shawn Pardee and Chris Martin score in double figures for the Comets at 14.8 and 11.8 points per game respectively. Four Comets grab at least four rebounds per contest including Colin Carter's 5.2 boards per 40 minutes.

Tale of the Tape: Points per game – Wilmington 72.9, Olivet 69.0; opponents' points per game – Wilmington 77.3, Olivet 86.5; field goal percentage – Wilmington 43.6, Olivet 45.1; three-point percentage – Wilmington 31.7, Olivet 34.2; free throw percentage – Wilmington 69.6, Olivet 65.9; rebounds per game – Wilmington 29.2, Olivet 36.8; assist-to-turnover ratio – Wilmington 1.03, Olivet 0.61.

Recent History: Wilmington has played Olivet twice as an NCAA Division III member. The Comets defeated the Quakers 54-45 on Nov. 17, 1995 and 91-69 at Hermann Court on Nov. 23, 2002. More information on the series history can be viewed by visiting the link above.
