Men's Basketball Set to Travel to BW Saturday

WILMINGTON, Ohio - The Wilmington College men's basketball team continues Ohio Athletic Conference (OAC) with a road game at Baldwin Wallace University on Saturday. Tip-off from Ursprung Gymnasium is slated for 3 p.m.

The Teams: Wilmington and Baldwin Wallace (BW). The Fightin' Quakers are 5-9 overall and 3-4 in conference competition after dispatching Otterbein University 71-61 at Hermann Court on Wednesday. The Yellow Jackets are 8-6 on the season and 4-3 in OAC play after falling at Ohio Northern University 81-74 on Wednesday evening.

The Coaches: K.C. Hunt is in his 13th season as head coach of Wilmington's men's basketball program. Hunt, who has coached two All-Americans and seven of the school's 1,000-point scorers, led the Quakers to OAC Tournament titles in 2010 and 2014. He garnered Great Lakes Region Coach of the Year honors for guiding Wilmington to OAC Tournament title and a win in the NCAA Division III Tournament in 2010. Tom Heil is in his fifth season as BW's head coach. He led the Yellow Jackets to a 21-9 record, an OAC Tournament title and a berth in the NCAA Division III Tournament last season.

The Players: Jeffery Mansfield in Wilmington's leading scorer at 16.8 points per game and is one of four Quakers to grab at least four rebounds per game. The other three – DaeShawn Jackson, Colin Myers and Abdul Kanu – also score in double figures. Those four combine to provide nearly three-fourths of Wilmington's scoring. Senior Payton Smith dishes out nearly four assists per 40 minutes. Luke Schaefer and Michael Quiring are BW's top scorers as both score over 10 points per game. Drew Sova grabs a team-best 7.5 rebounds per contest.

Tale of the Tape: Points per game – Wilmington 72.8, BW 71.9; opponents' points per game – Wilmington 77.1, BW 68.0; field goal percentage – Wilmington 43.2, BW 43.5; three-point percentage – Wilmington 31.5, BW 32.9; free throw percentage – Wilmington 65.7, BW 63.7; rebounds per game – Wilmington 30.2, BW 35.9; assist-to-turnover ratio – Wilmington 1.01, BW, 1.14.
