WILMINGTON, Ohio - The Wilmington College men's basketball team hosts Earlham College in the home-opener on Monday evening. The Quaker Bowl Rivalry game is slated to begin at 7 p.m.

The Teams: Wilmington and Earlham. The Fightin' Quakers are 1-2 on the season after an 86-65 loss at No. 21 The College of Wooster on Saturday. The Hustlin' Quakers began the season 2-0, but have since lost twice including a 95-71 decision at Albion College.

The Coaches: K.C. Hunt is in his 13th season as head coach of Wilmington's men's basketball program. Hunt, who has coached two All-Americans and seven of the school's 1,000-point scorers, led the Quakers to OAC Tournament titles in 2010 and 2014. He garnered Great Lakes Region Coach of the Year honors for guiding Wilmington to OAC Tournament title and a win in the NCAA Division III Tournament in 2010. Joe Scheuers, formerly an assistant at Earlham, is in is first season as the program's head coach after spending the 2018-19 season as the Head Coach at Thomas College (Maine).

The Players: A quartet of Wilmington individuals – Jeffery Mansfield, DaeShawn Jackson, Abdul Kanu and Colin Myers – all score in double figures while Mansfield leading the team a 16.7 points per game. Jackson, while scoring 13.7 points per contest, grabs 5.7 boards per game. Payton Smith leads the squad in assists, dishing out 4.3 per 40 minutes. Jamel Barnes scores 20 points a game for Earlham while Blake Bonin, Kenneth Stalling Jr. and Chainey Zolman also score in double figures. Barnes is also Earlham's leading rebounder at 6.0 boards per game.

Tale of the Tape: Points per game – Wilmington 75.3, Earlham 75.3; opponents points per game - Wilmington 80.7, Earlham 80.8; field goal percentage - Wilmington 41.5, Earlham 46.1; three point percentage - Wilmington 24.3, Earlham 40.2; free throw percentage - Wilmington 78.8, Earlham 78.6; rebounds per game - Wilmington 31.0, Earlham 28.5; assist-to-turnover ratio - Wilmington 0.80 Earlham 0.69.

Quaker Bowl Rivalry: The athletics departments of Wilmington and Earlham have re-created the Quaker Bowl rivalry. Originally a traveling trophy for just football and men's basketball, the bowl will now be competed for across all sports the two schools compete in. This year's standings have Wilmington in front 4-1.
