WILMINGTON, Ohio - The Wilmington College men's basketball team hosts Ohio Northern University (ONU) for a 7 p.m. Ohio Athletic Conference (OAC) contest on Wednesday evening.

The Teams: Wilmington and Ohio Northern. The Fightin' Quakers are 6-11 on the season and 4-6 in conference competition after a hard-fought 92-84 loss to the University of Mount Union on Saturday. The Polar Bears are also 6-11 overall, but 2-8 in OAC games after a 79-59 loss at Capital University on Saturday.

The Coaches: K.C. Hunt is in his 13th season as head coach of Wilmington's men's basketball program. Hunt, who has coached two All-Americans and seven of the school's 1,000-point scorers, led the Quakers to OAC Tournament titles in 2010 and 2014. He garnered Great Lakes Region Coach of the Year honors for guiding Wilmington to OAC Tournament title and a win in the NCAA Division III Tournament in 2010. Rich Bensman is in his eighth season on the ONU sidelines including his fourth as head coach.

The Players: Four individuals – Jeffery Mansfield, DaeShawn Jackson, Abdul Kanu and Colin Myers – all score in double figures for Wilmington including Mansfield's 18.9 points per game. All four, who combine to score nearly 74 percent of the Quakers' points, all grab over four rebounds per contest. Mansfield is coming off of a career-high, 41-point performance against Mount Union. Payton Smith dishes out a team-best 4.1 assists per game. A trio of Polar Bears – C.J. Napier, Landen Long and Thomas Phillips – all score in double figures. Napier, the team's leading scorer, also grabs a team-best 6.4 rebounds per contest.

Tale of the Tape: Points per game – Wilmington 74.8, ONU 67.2; opponents' points per game – Wilmington 77.9, ONU 74.2; field goal percentage – Wilmington 44.5, ONU 41.0; three-point percentage – Wilmington 32.4, ONU 33.0; free throw percentage – Wilmington 68.0, ONU 75.4; rebounds per game – Wilmington 30.9, ONU 33.2; assist-to-turnover ratio – Wilmington 1.04, ONU 0.93.

Recent History: Wilmington is 18-25 against Ohio Northern since becoming an NCAA Division III member in 1991. The Quakers have won the last four meetings, however, including an 85-69 win in Ada on Jan. 12, 2019. More information on the series history can be viewed by visiting the link above.
