SPRINGFIELD, Ohio - The Wilmington College saw its losing skid reach four games with a 7-1 defeat at Wittenberg University in a non-conference contest on Tuesday evening.

Quaker starter David Ernst was able to avoid the big inning, but the Tigers tagged him for a run in both the second and third innings. The Chaminade Julienne High School alumnus began the fourth, but his day concluded after giving up five consecutive hits to open the inning. Kaleb Stines entered in relief and got out of the inning before any further damage was done, but Wilmington trailed 5-0.

Wittenberg starter Andrew Rush did not strike out a single batter, but kept the Quaker offense at bay with six scoreless innings. Rust would allow just five hits and two walks, and the Tiger bullpen was even more impressive. Tommy Chilicki, Alex Hemunaitis and Connor Goss allowed just three base runners (one hit and two walks) over the final three innings to secure the win.

The Tigers (11-5) outhit the Quakers 12-6 and had four individuals - Michael Bronowski, Matt Moore, Rocco Royer and Luke Thomas - that finished with two hits. Jared Lammert and Kyle Jennings accounted for four of WC's hits with one of Lammert's base knocks being a double.

The Quakers (8-11) return to Ohio Athletic Conference (OAC) play by hosting Baldwin Wallace University on Saturday. First pitch for the twinbill is slated for 1 p.m.
