WILMINGTON, Ohio - Simon Heys opens up his season in North Carolina at the very popular Raleigh Relays. After the start of the season for the rest of the Wilmington College men's track & field squad was delayed a week due to weather, Heys will represent them this weekend.

The Schedule: Heys is in heat two of three and will race after the first 10,000-meter race which begins at 9:05.

The Competition: Heys will go head to head against 49 other athletes in his race alone, with over 120 total athletes entered into the 10,000-meter race. The competition will include a majority of Division 1 runners from around the country.  

The Coach: Ron Combs continues his 24th season as the head coach of Wilmington's men's and women's track and field teams. Combs has been named Coach of the Year, twice by the Heartland Athletic Conference, and once by the OAC. In 2002, he led the men's indoor team to a sixth-place finish at NCAA DIII Championships.

The Runner: Heys enters his second official outdoor season. He currently owns two outdoor records for Wilmington College in both the 5,000-meter run and the 10,000-meter run.
