WILMINGTON, Ohio - The Wilmington College Men's Track & Field Team is sending two athletes to Winston Salem, North Carolina this weekend for DIII Indoor National Championships. After finishing the season ranked in first in the nation for the weight throw squad, Wilmington will have both individuals stem from the group. 

The Schedule: Indoor Nationals is a two-day meet, however, Wilmington will only be competing in men's weight throw on Friday starting at 5:45 PM.

The Coach: Ron Combs continues his 24th season as the head coach of Wilmington's men's and women's track and field teams. Combs has been named Coach of the Year, twice by the Heartland Athletic Conference, and once by the OAC. In 2002, he led the men's indoor team to a sixth-place finish at NCAA DIII Championships.

The Throwers: Senior Joe Shuga comes into the meet in 9th place overall in DIII in weight throw with a season-best and personal-best throw of 60' 11.5". Shuga has claimed four top-two finishes on the season, with two of those being first place honors. He finished first in the Ohio Athletic Conference (OAC). Freshman JJ Durr has opened his collegiate career coming in 11th place in DIII in weight throw with a season-best and personal-best mark of 60' 3.25". Durr has claimed seven top-three finishes this season with three of those being first place honors. He finished second in the OAC.
