NAPERVILLE & JOLIET, Illinois - The Wilmington College men's track & field team split up on Friday as four individuals competed at the Carius/Gregory Invitational hosted by North Central College and one runner to the St. Francis Last Chance Meet hosted by the University of St. Francis.

The Fightin' Quaker quartet of Eric Reynolds, George Rickett, Noah Tobin and Josh Cyrus competed in the 1,500-meter run at North Central with all four placing within seven spots of each other. Reynolds crossed the finish line first in 4:09.60 (seventh) while Rickett finished less than a second behind him, turning in a time of 4:10.01. Tobin placed 17th with a time of 4:10.48 while Cyrus rounded out the group with a 4:14.41 time, good for 21st place. Dane Klosterman also ran in the 400-meter hurdles, placing third by crossing the finish line in 55.95 seconds.

Simon Heys competed in the 10,000-meter run at St. Francis, looking to move into the field of 20 for the NCAA Division III Outdoor Track & Field Championships as he entered the day the last spot out. Unfortunately, the race ended up running at a slower pace as even the first-place finisher didn't beat Heys' seeded time. The Wilmington High School alumnus ran a mark of 14:43.28 to finish ninth.

Wilmington will have one more chance to improve times and qualify for nationals as the University of Mount Union hosts a last chance qualifier on Wednesday, May 18.
