WILMINGTON, Ohio – The Wilmington College baseball team hosts Muskingum University for an Ohio Athletic Conference (OAC) twinbill at Tewskbury-Delaney Field on Saturday. First pitch for the Senior Day doubleheader is scheduled for 1 p.m.

The Teams – Wilmington and Muskingum. The Fightin' Quakers enter the game 17-16 overall and 6-8 in OAC having most recently earned an 8-7 walk-off win over Mount St. Joseph University on Wednesday. The Fighting Muskies are 13-21 on the season, 2-12 in conference games and riding a five-game losing streak. 

The Coaches - Tony Vittorio, who formerly led the University of Dayton's baseball program for 18 seasons, enters his fourth season as Wilmington's head coach. For the first time in nearly a decade in 2021, the Quakers didn't finish 10th in the OAC, turning in an eighth-place finish with a 10-24 conference mark. Greg Thompson, the longest-tenured coach in the OAC, is in his 26th season as Muskingum's head baseball coach.

The Hitters - Zach Christensen and Caleb Scott both hit over the .400 mark for Wilmington with Scott leading the way in hits (55), doubles (13), RBIs (43) and slugging percentage (.607). Dominic Depa, who hit the walk-off single in WC's win over MSJ, has driven in 31 runs with three home runs while Tyler Shaneyfelt has stolen an OAC-best 25 bases while being caught only twice. Devin Ryan and Allex Stantacroce have both driven in 29 runs for the Muskies with Ryan leading the team in average (.373) and home runs (6).

The Pitchers - Tyler Shaneyfelt has a 2.60 ERA to lead the Quakers pitching staff in 17.1 innings pitched while Aaron Boster, who carries a 5.25 ERA, has struck out 62 batters, marking the most strikeouts for a single Wilmington pitcher in the OAC era (2001-present). He also leads WC in wins on the year with four. Jake Norris leads the Musky pitching staff in several categories including innings pitching (56.1), ERA (3.67) and strikeouts (45).

OAC Hitter of the Week - Tyler Shaneyfelt is this week's OAC Hitter of the Week.

Senior Day: The twinbill marks the final home weekend series in the careers of three seniors - Tre Nixon, Moses Garza and Aaron Burns.
