WILMINGTON, Ohio - Aaron Boster had the best outing a Wilmington College baseball starting pitcher has had all season on Thursday as the sophomore struckout nine in eight innings in an 11-4 Fightin' Quakers win over Franklin College.

The Fightin' Quakers gave their starter some breathing room early as three hits including RBI-knocks from Jared Lammert and Dominic Depa to go along with a Grizzly error put the hosts up 4-0 after one compete inning. A sacrifice fly from Jesse Reliford in the second and a bases-loaded single from reigning Ohio Athletic Conference (OAC) Hitter of the Week Evan Kelsey in the third put Wilmington up comfortably 6-0.

Franklin got the first two runs on in the fourth, but three straight strikeouts ended the winning. The Grizzlies would tag Boster for a single run in the sixth, but Depa got it back and more in the bottom half of the inning with a two-RBI double. The Quakers put the game out of reach with three more runs in the seventh. Franklin did score three runs off Tre Nixon in the top of the ninth, but Nixon ended the game with a strikeout.

Boster earned his first win of the year in a 145-pitch outing, scattering five hits and five walks with nine strikeouts and a single run in eight innings of work. Matthew Johnson, Franklin's starter, took the loss allowing four earned runs on four hits in one inning pitched. Offensively, Kelsey continued his torrid hitting pace, going 3-for-5 with two RBIs and a run scored. Lammert and Depa both had multiple hits as well. For the Grizzlies, AJ Sanders, Noah Wood and Matt Earley had multi-hit contests. The two teams combined for 20 hits with 17 of those being singles.

Wilmington (7-4) faces Olivet College (Michigan) for a three-game series at Tewksbury-Delaney Field on Sunday and Monday.
