Jared Mitchell Joins Baseball Coach Staff

WILMINGTON, Ohio - Wilmington College Head Baseball Coach Tony Vittorio announced the hiring of Jared Mitchell as a volunteer assistant coach with the program on Monday.

Mitchell is a 2019 graduate of Ohio Wesleyan University having earned a sports management degree in 2019. He played collegiately at the University of the Coumberlands and at Lebanon High School, where Mitchell was a First Team All-GWOC honoree and a member of three GWOC South Championship teams. He has coached the previous two summers as an assistant coach for the Bo Jackson Blacksox as well as being a hitting instructor for John Sullivan Hitting.

"Jared annually attended our University of Dayton Baseball Camps as a youth baseball player," Vittorio said. "I always appreciated his passion for the game of baseball. That alonside the knowledge he has gained throughout his playing and coaching experiences makes him a good fit for our baseball program at Wilmington College."

Wilmington opens its 2021 season with a non-conference series against Otterbein University in Dayton.
