WILMINGTON, Ohio - The Wilmington College men's lacrosse team (0-9) lost at home against the University of Mount Union on Saturday, 22-4 in Williams Stadium on Saturday.

The Fightin' Quakers had their best start of the year as they scored first with a goal by Jonathan Lokey in the first three minutes of the game. They also held the Raiders scoreless half-way through the first period until giving up back-to-back goals with just over eight minutes to go. 

Wilmington's defense kept things close in both the first and second period only allowing 11 goals between the two. Justen Shaw and Austin Young both found the back of the net in the second period, keeping the Quakers within striking distance in the first half. Mount Union came out strong in the third, however, scoring eight goals on seven assists. Those goals left the score 19-3 by the end of the third period.  

Reed Beavers gathered 18 saves and Justen Shaw finished the game with two goals for the Quakers. Logan Gebhart scored five goals for the Raiders while Alex Ellison had four assists.  The Raiders out-shot the Quakers 52-11 and won the ground ball battle a total of 26 times.

Wilmington is back on the road Wednesday, April 21st when the Quakers take on Muskingum for a 7 p.m. start.
