Men's Lacrosse Falls to John Carroll Despite Three-Goal Night From Young

*Story by Andy Riesenberg

UNIVERSITY HEIGHTS, Ohio - The Wilmington College men's lacrosse team (0-8) was defeated by John Carroll University (8-1) Saturday, 32-4 at Don Shula Stadium in Cleveland.

Reed Beavers tallied 15 saves for the Quakers, but Wilmington could not slow down the relentless Blue Streak attack. JCU scored 10 goals in the first period and 14 in the second, proving to be more than enough for a home victory.

Wilmington did score a goal in each period for the first time this season thanks in large part to Austin Young, who scored a season-high three goals in the game. He was able to slide one by half-way through the first period and again half-way through the second. His third would come early in the third period

Skyler Blake was the story for John Carroll as he earned 14 points, 10 of which were goals scored throughout the game. Four other Blue Streaks went on to score at least three or more goals.

Wilmington returns home Saturday, April 17 to take on the University Mount Union in Williams Stadium at 1 p.m.
