KANSAS CITY, Missouri - The 2022-23 Wilmington College men's basketball team, along with three individuals - Andrew Clark, Isiah Taborn and Noah Dado - garnered honors for their academic achievement from the National Basketball Coaches Association (NABC), announced on Thursday. The Quakers earned the NABC Team Academic Excellence Award while the three individuals were recognized as members of the NABC Honors Court.

In order to receive the Team Academic Excellence Award, men's basketball programs need to complete the 2021-22 academic year with a team grade point average (GPA) of 3.0 or higher. Wilmington achieved a 3.15 GPA for the academic year.

"Anytime you achieve a team academic award, that means an academic standard is starting to bleed through the whole program," Head Coach Micah Mills said. "I love the fact that this is the second year in a row our program has earned the NABC 'Team Academic Excellence Award'. This past academic year, we had several individuals achieve academic recognition from the conference level, the district level and now national level. Watching our guys chase their best self in the classroom absolutely fires me up! I am excited to see our program reach an even higher academic standard in the future."

In order to be a member of the Honors Court, men's basketball student-athletes need to be juniors, seniors or graduate students and hold a cumulative GPA of 3.20 or higher at the conclusion of the 2022-23 academic year.

Wilmington opens its 2022-23 season at the Lauren Hill Tip-Off Classic hosted at Mount St. Joseph University on Nov. 11.
