WILMINGTON, Ohio - The Wilmington College men's basketball team hosts Wittenberg University for a non-conference game at Fred Raizk Arena on Wednesday evening. Tip-off is scheduled for 7 p.m.

The Teams: Wilmington and Wittenberg. The Quakers enter the matchup 3-1 on the season after an 82-74 win over Kenyon College last weekend. The Tigers stand at 2-1 having most recently defeated Mount St. Joseph University 67-61 on Tuesday. 

The Coaches: Micah Mills enters his eighth season with the Wilmington men's basketball program with the 2022-23 campaign being his first as head coach. He helped WC to a 17-8 record during the 2018-19 season and came within a game of the program's first OAC regular season championships. Mills, a graduate of Ohio Valley University, spent three seasons as an assistant coach at fellow OAC member Otterbein University before coming to Wilmington. Matt Croci, a 1994 Wittenberg alumnus, is in his seventh season as Wittenberg's head coach. He's led the Tigers to a 112-41 record. 

The Players: A duo of Quakers - Abdul Kanu & Obed Achirem - score in double figures with Kanu leading the way at 16.5 points per game. Achirem averages nearly a double-double with nine rebounds a contest while Bryce Bird assists on nearly three Wilmington baskets a game. Nearly half of Wittenberg's scoring comes from two people as Jerry Saunders Jr. and Trey Killens average 20.7 and 16.3 points per game respectively. Levi Boettcher grabs 8.3 boards per 40 minutes and also leads the Tigers in assists at 4.3 per contest.
