WILMINGTON, Ohio - Otterbein University hit six of its first seven field goals for a wire-to-wire 81-49 victory over the Wilmington College men's basketball team in Ohio Athletic Conference (OAC) action from Fred Raizk Arena on Wednesday evening.

Three straight baskets, which included two triples, forced a quick timeout from Head Coach Micah Mills with his team down 8-0. Out of the timeout, Andrew Clark made a basket for the Quakers' first points, but an Alex Hannah triple immediately followed.

Otterbein opened up a 20-point advantage (27-7) midway through the first half and would lead by as many as 32. The Cardinals shot a blistering 17-of-34 (.500) from the field in the first 20 minutes and led 43-16 at the break thanks in part to a 30-11 edge on the boards.

The Quakers hung with the Cardinals in the second half with the visitors outscoring the hosts 38-33 in the final 20 minutes.

Otterbein finished 31-of-66 (47.0 percent) for the game to go along with 10-of-27 (37.0 percent) from distance and a 54-29 rebounding advantage. Wilmington shot 19-of-64 (29.7 percent) from the field with four triples on 27 tries.

Individually, a trio of Cardinals – Hannah, Julian Heckman and Troy Scowden – scored in double figures with Hannah's 17 points leading all scorers. Cam Evans, the OAC's leading scoring at 20.0 points per game coming in, was held to seven points on 3-of-11 shooting. For the Quakers, Izaiah Cathy scored a career-high 11 points off the bench while Gavin Heimlich had nine points and nine rebounds.

Wilmington opens the second half of OAC play by hosting Baldwin Wallace University on Saturday. Tip-off is slated for 2 p.m.
