WILMINGTON, Ohio - The Wilmington College men's basketball team continues its Ohio Athletic Conference (OAC) slate with a home game against Heidelberg University on Saturday. Tip-off is scheduled for 2 p.m.

The Teams: Wilmington and Heidelberg. The Quakers enter the match with a 3-4 overall record and looking for their first conference victory after a 74-62 defeat to Ohio Northern University on Wednesday. The Student Princes are are 6-1 overall and 2-0 in OAC contests having most recently beat the University of Mount Union, then ranked No. 2, 82-70 last Saturday. 

The Coaches: Micah Mills enters his eighth season with the Wilmington men's basketball program with the 2022-23 campaign being his first as head coach. He helped WC to a 17-8 record during the 2018-19 season and came within a game of the program's first OAC regular season championships. Mills, a graduate of Ohio Valley University, spent three seasons as an assistant coach at fellow OAC member Otterbein University before coming to Wilmington. Andy Bucheit, a 2005 alumnus of Wittenberg University, is in his 10th season as Heidelberg's head coach. He was named the 2020-21 OAC Coach of the Year. 

The Players: Wilmington is led by a pair of frontcourt players as Abdul Kanu and Obed Achirem both score in double figures. Kanu leads the way at 14.8 points per game while Achirem nearly averages a double-double with 9.9 rebounds per 40 minutes. Heidelberg features a balanced scoring attack as four Student Princes - Emmanuel Perdue, Tre Watkins, Seth Hohman, Isaiah Young - score between 10-12 points per game. Perdue leads the bunch with a dozen points while Eric Panning grabs 6.3 boards per contest.
