Women's Track & Field Heads to Wittenberg on Friday

WILMINGTON, Ohio - The Wilmington College women's track & field team heads to Wittenberg University on Friday for the Fightin' Quakers' final tune-up before the Ohio Athletic Conference (OAC) Outdoor Championships on April 26-27. The meet is slated to begin at 11 a.m.

The Coach: Ron Combs enters his 19th season as the head coach of Wilmington's men's and women's track and field teams. Combs has been named Coach of the Year, twice by the Heartland Athletic Conference, and once by the OAC. In 2002, he led the men's indoor team to a sixth-place finish at NCAA DIII Championships.

Who to Watch: Emma Burke, who finished third in the 400-meter hurdles at the Outdoor All-Ohio Meet last week with a time of 1:05.73, is scheduled to compete in that event along with the 100-meter hurdles. She holds team-best marks in four events thus far this season.
