Women's Track & Field Takes 10th at OAC Indoor Championships

RESULTS

ADA, Ohio – The Wilmington College women's track & field team finished 10th at the 2019 Ohio Athletic Conference (OAC) Indoor Track & Field Championships which concluded on Saturday evening.

Otterbein University won the championship with 164.5 points, finishing 15 points ahead of the University of Mount Union. John Carroll University tallied 143 points while Baldwin Wallace University was the other team to cross the 100-point plateau with 113 points.

In field events, Kayli Sullivan took ninth in the shot put with a heave of 38' 10 ¼" while Keva Cox (4' 9") placed 15th in the high jump.

Emma Burke recorded the best individual performance for the Fightin' Quakers as she took seventh in the 60-meter hurdles with a time of 9.65 seconds. Brooke Gibbons also competed in the 1,000-meter run, crossing the finish line in 3:19.76 and 14th place.

Wilmington competed in both the 800-meter and 1,600-meter relays. Burke, Sidney Fields, Miranda Gibson and Abby Spirk finished eighth in the 800-meter relay with a time of 1:54.72. In the 1,600-meter relay, Burke, Fields and Gibson teamed up with Amber LaRotonda for a ninth-place finish in the event in 4:25.64.

The Quaker will return to Ada next weekend for the Ohio Northern University Last Chance Meet on March 1-2.
