WESTERVILLE, Ohio - Emma Burke qualified for the finals of the 400-meter hurdles for the Wilmington College women's track & field team on day one of the 2019 Ohio Athletic Conference (OAC) Outdoor Championships hosted by Otterbein University on Friday.
Burke ran a time of 1:05.59 in the event to finish second in her heat with a time of 1:05.59, good for the third overall seed in tomorrow's final. The sophomore also competed in the 100-meter hurdles, finishing ninth with a time of 15.56 seconds.
The Fightin' Quakers' 4-x-800-meter relay squad of Brooke Gibbons, Kelly Rice, Kayci Johnson and Allison Helmke took sixth with a time of 10:42.29 to earn the team three points.
Other noteworthy individual performances included Morgan Loomis tying for 10th place (88' 7") and Savannah Rhodes's personal best time of 41:45.78 in the 10,000-meter run to take 14th place.
The Quakers, who sit in ninth place after the first day of competition, get underway tomorrow (Saturday) at 9:30 a.m.
