Burke Leads the Way for Women's Track & Field at Jessica Starks Open

RESULTS

BEXLEY, Ohio – The Wilmington College women's track & field team recorded four top-eight finishes at the Jessica Starks Open hosted by Capital University on Saturday.

Emma Burke was the lone Fightin' Quaker to tally a top-eight finish in an individual event. The junior finished fifth in the 60-meter dash (9.69 seconds) and sixth in the 400-meter dash (1:06.12). Burke also teamed up with Cheyenne Rhodes, Miranda Gibson and Sidney Fields to earn a sixth-place finish (4:36.08) in the 4-x-400-meter relay.

Wilmington also had a team score in the distance medley relay. Katie Hughes, Amber Larotonda, Brooke Gibbons and Allison Helmke finished second with a time of 14:04.73.

As a team, Wilmington finished 14th out of 17 teams. The Quakers will return to action at the Cedarville Invitational next weekend.
