Women's Track & Field Continues Outdoor Season at Cedarville

WILMINGTON, Ohio - The Wilmington College women's track & field team heads to Cedarville Open hosted by Cedarville University on Saturday. Action gets underway at 10:30 a.m.

The Teams: Wilmington will be joined by several other NCAA Division III schools: Anderson University, Defiance College, Wittenberg University and St. Scholastica University. Host Cedarville along with the University of Cincinnati, Cincinnati Christian University, Miami University, Rio Grande University, Siena Heights University, Ursuline University, Walsh University, Wayne State University and Wright State University.

The Coach: Ron Combs enters his 19th season as the head coach of Wilmington's men's and women's track and field teams. Combs has been named Coach of the Year, twice by the Heartland Athletic Conference, and once by the OAC. In 2002, he led the men's indoor team to a sixth-place finish at NCAA DIII Championships.

Who to Watch – Track Events: Emma Burke tallied runner-up finishes in both the 100-meter hurdles (16.03 seconds) and 200-meter hurdles (1:07.02) at the Pioneer Invitational last weekend. Savannah Rhodes (second – 43:53.01) and Kendra Stahl (eighth - 48:38.58) both finished in the top eight of the 10,000-meter run. Additionally, Allison Helmke finished fifth in the 3,000-meter steeplechase with a time of 13:29.26.

Who to Watch – Field Events: Kayli Sullivan scored points in both the hammer throw and shot put by placing seventh (140' 6") and eighth (27' 2 ¼") respectively. Keva Cox rounded out the Quakers' field performances with a sixth-place finish (4' 9") in the high jump.
