Maxine Offiaeli Joins Track & Field Program as Assistant Coach

WILMINGTON, Ohio - Wilmington College Head Track & Field Coach Ron Combs has announced the hiring of Maxine Offiaeli as the program's assistant coach. She will work with the Fightin' Quakers' throwers.

"I'm very excited for Maxine [Offiaeli] to join our track & field program," said Combs. "She will make an immediate and lasting impact on the development of our throwers."

Offaeli comes to Wilmington from New England where she serves as throws coach for the Nike Running Camp for four seasons. She coached high school-aged athletes with a wide variety of experience as well as creating throwing session plays for all throwing events. She also served as social media manager for the camp.

Alongside working the Nike Running Camp, Offiaeli worked as a private throwing coach building a strong technical foundation for her athletes along with helping them navigate the recruiting process.

A 2018 graduate of Brown University, Offiaeli was a four-year member of the Bears' track & field program. A co-captain as a senior, she finished fifth in the Ivy League in the weight throw twice along with a six-place finish in the event during the 2015-16 season. She ranks third all-time in the weight throw and 10th all-time in the hammer throw in the Brown record books.

As a student, she also worked in Brown's athletics department and oversaw accessibility of the tutoring program to over 900 student-athletes. Offiaeli earned a degree in economics, entrepreneurship and organizational studies from Brown.

She resides in Centerville.
