WILMINGTON, Ohio - The Wilmington College men's track and field team will begin its 2018-19 season at the Marietta First Glimpse Invitational this Saturday.

The Teams: Wilmington College will be joined by conference host Marietta College and another OAC member institution, Muskingum University. Also at the meet will be no- conference schools WVU Track Club, Davis and Elkins, Pikeville, West Liberty, Salem International, Ohio Dominican, Glenville State, Frostburg State, Ohio Valley, Aldersson Broaddus and Charleston (W.Va.).

The Coach: Ron Combs enters his 18th season as the head coach of Wilmington's men's and women's track and field teams. Combs has been named Coach of the Year, twice by the Heartland Athletic Conference, and once by the OAC. In 2002, he led the men's indoor team to a sixth-place finish at NCAA DIII Championships.

Who to Watch: At last season's conference meet the Quakers scored an eighth place finish in the distance medley relay with Kelly Rice, Miranda Gibson, Mckenzie Hamm and Allison Helmke. All four women return to indoor competition this weekend. Junior Emma Burke looks to continue success from last season where she took second in the 60-meter hurdles and joined Gibson and Hamm for an eighth place in the 4-x-400-meter relay. The Quaker 4-x-200-meter relay team also placed seventh with Burke and Gibson returning from that team. Returning sophomore Kayli Sullivan also managed to get a tenth place finish in the shot put in her first indoor conference meet.
