Burke Takes Top Eight in Two Events at Cedarville

CEDARVILLE, Ohio – The Wilmington College women's track & field team battled Mother Nature and the competition at the windy and rainy Cedarville University Invitational on Saturday.

Emma Burke highlighted the Fightin' Quakers performances by earning team points in two events. The junior finished third in her heat of the 100-meter hurdles (15.70 seconds) that earned her a fourth-place finish in the event. Additionally, Burke placed fifth in the 400-meter dash with a time of 1:02.48.

Wilmington also had two field individuals earn points for the squad. Morgan Loomis threw the javelin 93' 10" that earned her a third-place finish while Kayli Sullivan also took third in her event, the hammer throw (136' 10").

"We did a nice job of battling some difficult conditions," Head Women's Track & Field Coach Ron Combs said. "I'm happy that everyone came out of the meet healthy.

As a team, the Quakers finished in 11th place with 23 points as well as placing third among NCAA Division III schools in attendance. Wilmington continues its outdoor season at the Heidelberg University Invitational.
