Women's Track and Field Travels to Emory for Outdoor Season-Opening Meet

WILMINGTON, Ohio- The Wilmington College women's outdoor track and field team will travel to Emory University to compete in the Emory Invitational on Friday and Saturday.

The Coach: Ron Combs enters his 17th season as the head coach of Wilmington's men's and women's track and field teams. Combs has been named Coach of the Year, twice by the Heartland Athletic Conference, and once by the OAC. In 2002, he led the men's indoor team to a sixth-place finish at NCAA DIII Championships.

WC Student-Athletes to Watch: Lauren Stacy concluded the indoor season with a ninth-place finish in the NCAA Division III Indoor National Championships and will look to continue to lead the team and the field in throwing events during the outdoor season. Emma Burke is also coming off of a successful indoor season, finishing second in the 60-meter hurdles at Ohio Athletic Conference Championships and playing an integral role in several relays.
