Stacy Wins Hammer Throw, Women's Track & Field Ninth at OAC Championships

ADA, Ohio - The Wilmington College women's outdoor track and field team competed in the final day of the Ohio Athletic Conference (OAC) Championship Meet on Saturday. After day one, the Fightin' Quakers were in ninth place with eight points. The Quakers were able to hold on to their ninth-place spot throughout today's competition, ending the meet in ninth with a total of 21 points.

Lauren Stacy led the team in the field events. Stacy was named OAC Champion in the hammer throw with a heave of 48.27 meters. She was backed in the event by Zara Zeller who earned eighth with a mark of 40.36 meters.

Stacy also turned in an eighth-place finish in the shot put with a mark of 12.16 meters. Kayli Sullivan finished immediately behind, in ninth-place with a toss of 12.14 meters.

It was a rough day of competion for the Quakers on the track. Their only points came from the eighth-place winning 4-x-400-meter relay consisting of Emma Burke, Cheyenne Rhodes, Miranda Gibson, and McKenzie Hamm who crossed the finish line in 4:24.83.

Wilmington heads to the Indiana Invitational hosted by Indiana University Bloomington on Friday.
