Lauren Stacy Named OAC Women's Field Athlete of the Week

AUSTINTOWN, Ohio – Wilmington College women's track and field senior Lauren Stacy has been named the Ohio Athletic Conference (OAC) Women's Field Athlete of the Week for her performance at the Marietta Indoor Open on Saturday.

Stacy won both the events she competed in; the weight throw and the shot put. She won the weight throw with a heave of 15.87 meters (52' 1"), beating the field by nine feet. The Western Brown High School alumna finished the shut put with a throw of 11.92 meters (39 1 ¼").

As a team, the Fightin' Quakers took second place at the Marietta Open.

"Lauren [Stacy] had a solid start to 2018 with her two wins at Marietta," Assistant Track and Field Coach Wayne Stacy said. "She has set some lofty goals for herself this season, and this is a good first step toward meeting those goals."

Wilmington continues its indoor season at the OAC Split Meet hosted by Otterbein University this weekend.
