Throwers Lead Women's Track and Field at Coach Rob Invitational

SPRINGFIELD, Ohio- The Wilmington College women's outdoor track and field team traveled to Wittenberg University to compete in the 'Coach Rob' Invitational on Friday afternoon. Of the 10 competing teams, Wilmington currently sits in sixth-place with 58 points.

The Fightin' Quakers dominated the shot put this afternoon, earning three top-ten finishes. Lauren Stacy claimed first place with a mark of 12.00 meters. Kayli Sullivan took second-place with a toss of 11.46 meters while a throw of 8.96 meters earned Calla Henry ninth place. Stacy also won the discus with throw of 36.51 meters and the hammer throw (47.98 meters).

Emma Burke achieved the highest place finish on the track for the Fightin' Quakers this afternoon, earning second in the 400-meter hurdles with a time of 1:08.64.

The 4-x-100-meter relay consisting of Ryan Allen, Lisa Bailey, Miranda Gibson, and Brooklyn Payne earned fifth-place with a time of 54.69.

Cheynne Rhodes turned in a fourth-place finish in the 400-meter dash with a time of 1:07.36. Crossing the finish-line a second later was teammate Miranda Gibson for seventh-place (1:08.60).

Bailey and Payne finished seven and eight, respectively in the 100-meter dash. Bailey completed the race in 13.66 while Payne clocked in at 13.78. Bailey also claimed fourth in the long jump with a distance of 4.89 meters.

Allen cinched third place in the pole vault, clearing a height of 2.59 meters. Other Quaker finishers include a fourth-place finish from Lisa Bailey (4.89 meters) in the 

Wilmington will host the Jenna Strong Invitational on Saturday, April 7. Competition is slated to begin at 11 a.m.
