Women's Track & Field Takes 14th at Emory Invitational

ATLANTA, Georgia - The Wilmington College women's track and field team concluded competition at the Emory Invitational hosted by Emory University on Saturday afternoon. The Fightin' Quakers went into the second and final day of competition in fifth place and ultimately finished the invitational in 14th place.

On the track, Emma Burke was the only member of the Quakers to break into the top 10 of an event. She earned eighth-place in the 110-meter hurdles with a time of 16.84.

Lauren Stacy led the way for the team in the throwing events, earning third place in the discus throw with a toss of 40.80 meters. She also earned a sixth-place finish in the shot put from a distance of 12.31 meters. Kayli Sullivan also appeared in the top 10 of the shot put, earning 10th with a mark of 11.39 meters.

The Quakers will be back in action on Friday, March 30 at the Wittenberg Invitational.
