Women's Track and Field Travels to Otterbein for OAC Split

WILMINGTON, Ohio – The Wilmington College women's track and field team will travel to Otterbein UniversityFriday to participate in the Ohio Athletic Conference (OAC) South Split Meet.

The Teams: Wilmington will be joined by OAC host Otterbein and fellow OAC schools Capital University, Muskingum University, and Marietta College.

The Coach: Ron Combs enters his 17th season as the head coach of Wilmington's men's and women's track and field teams. Combs has been named Coach of the Year, twice by the Heartland Athletic Conference, and once by the OAC. In 2002, he led the men's indoor team to a sixth-place finish at NCAA DIII Championships.

WC Student-Athletes to Watch: One of the top, returning throwers in the OAC, Lauren Stacy, comes off a successful weekend at the Marietta Invitational where she finished first in both the weight throw and the shot put. Ryan Allen hopes to stay on top in the pole vault after her first-place finish in the event last weekend. Runners Allison Helmke, McKenzie Hamm, Miranda Gibson, and Kelly Rice will look to stun in the mid-distance to distance events.
