Women's Track & Field Take Second in Regular Season Finale

TIFFIN, Ohio – The Wilmington College women's track and field spent the day at Hoernemann Stadium to cap off the 2021 regular season. The team finished strong, taking runner-up honors 132 points and finishing close behind the leader, Baldwin Wallace University, with 143.5 points. 

The distance duo of Kaitlyn Rauch and Julia Bystrom started off the day with third and fourth place finishes respectively in the 1,500-meter run as well as ending the day with fifth and sixth place finishes in the 5,000-meter run. Emma Burke ended her last regular season races with first place finishes in both the 100-meter hurdles (15.43) and 400-meter dash (1:01.09). Jenna Victor finished fourth (15.38) in the 100-meter dash with teammate Miranda Gibson close behind in fifth (15.78). 

Milena Wahl (2:32.20) and Kelsey Broering (2:36.11) took second and third in the 800-meter run. Both relays placed in the top two for the Quakers as the 4-x-100-meter squad took first place and the 4-x-400-meter group placed second. 

Lili Williford in pole vault and Madison Dietz in triple jump both placed first while Dietz also took second in long jump. Kayli Sullivan continues to build a legacy as she finished first in shot put, second in discus and second in hammer. Sullivan is currently ranked in the top three in the conference in both shot put and hammer as well as top 10 in discus. 

The Quakers will take a week of rest in order to prepare for the Ohio Athletic Conference (OAC) Meet on May 6-7 in Tiffin, Ohio.
