Sullivan Breaks Her Own Record in Hammer Throw at Otterbein

WESTERVILLE, Ohio – Kayli Sullivan tallied yet another record-breaking performance to highlight the Wilmington College women's track & field team's achievements at the Ohio Athletic Conference (OAC) Elite Meet hosted by Otterbein University on Saturday.

Sullivan broke her own school record in the hammer throw with a runner-up heave of 51.67 meters. The senior also finished second in the shot put (12.39 meters) and completed the throwing trifecta of events with a sixth-place mark of 36.35 meters in the discus. Madison Dietz rounded out the field event performances to score points for the Fightin' Quakers with a seventh-place lunge of 4.96 meters in the long jump.

On the track, Emma Burke turned in two scoring performances in hurdle events. The senior finished second in the 400-meter hurdles (1:06.80) and fourth in the 100-meter hurdles (15.39 seconds). Burke also played a part in both Wilmington relays to score, as were Dietz and Miranda Gibson. Lily Williford joined the Quaker trio to place third (52.46 seconds) in the 4-x-100-meter relay while Kelsey Broering ran the 4-x-400-meter relay with the three and crossed the finish line in 4:34.30.

As a team, Wilmington finished six with 42 points, five points ahead of Marietta College. The University of Mount Union won the meet with 171 points, edging out runner-up John Carroll University by 10 points.

The Quakers head to Tiffin and Heidelberg University next weekend.
