Wrestling Heads to Claude Sharer Duals on Saturday

WILMINGTON, Ohio - The Wilmington College wrestling team heads to Northeast Ohio for the Claude Sharer Wrestling Duals hosted by Case Western Reserve University on Saturday.

The Schedule: The Quakers will face off with Hiram College at 11 a.m. and compete against the host Spartans at approximately 12:30 p.m. Finally, Wilmington will compete with Muskingum University in a dual at 2 p.m. that will count towards Ohio Athletic Conference (OAC) standings.

The Coaches: Chris Basford enters his first year as WC's head wrestling coach in 2022-23. Basford has experience coaching at multiple institutions including Limestone College (South Carolina), Maryville Univerity (St. Louis) and the University of Nebraska-Omaha. Most recently, he led Limestone to a 10-4 mark as interim coach in 2021-22. Andy Vogel is in his third season as the Terriers' head coach while Josh Malave, the former head coach at the University of Mount Union, is in his second season at Case Western. Robert Watson-Powell, a 2014 Muskingum alumnus, is in his second season at his alma mater.
