Salamone & Sissoko Compete for Wrestling at Jim Bongo Bayly Open

ST. LOUIS, Missouri - The Wilmington College wrestling team had two individuals compete at the Jim Bongo Bayly Open hosted by Maryville University on Saturday.

In the 165-pound weight class, Adrian Salamone was pinned in 58 seconds by Dalton Litzsinger to open the day. After a bye, the senior went the full six minutes with Donavan Whitted before being pinned in six minutes. Both defeats were at the hands of Maryville wrestlers.

In the 285-pound weight class, Mo Sissoko competed in five rounds. The Union, Kentucky, native was pinned in 90 seconds of less in three of them, but avoided being pinned in the other two matches. Against Landon Clement of Drury University, Sissoko lost via a 6-4 decision, and versus David Hernandez of Lindenwood University, he lost via major decision (10-1).

Wilmington returns to the mat for the Claude Sharer Duals, which includes a rescheduled Ohio Athletic Conference (OAC) match with Muskingum University, on Saturday, Jan. 14. The duals, held at Case Western Reserve University, are scheduled to begin at 11 a.m.
