(MYRTLE BEACH, S.C.) – Three Quakers from the outdoor men's track & field team competed at the 2024 Division III Outdoor Track & Field Championships on Saturday. The team finished the event in eighth place as a team with 25 points, which is the highest the program has ever finished during the outdoor national meet.

Two rain and lightning delays changed the whole schedule of the day and forced all the events to be pushed back.

Nathen Borgan and Jarrett Durr were first up for Wilmington in the Hammer Throw. Both Quakers made it to the finals as Borgan hit 60.00m and Durr threw 61.12m in their first three throws to move into the final nine competitors. At this point in the competition, they got rolling. Borgan went over 62 meters on his final three throws and topped out with a personal best and new program record mark of 63.68m on his final throw. Durr followed suit with a personal best toss of 62.72m in his final attempt.

Borgan finished second for eight points and Durr was right behind him in third for six points, as they gathered 14 total team points for the Quakers. They are both All-Americans in the event for the second season in a row. They are two time All-Americans this season, as they both finished as All-Americans during the indoor season in the Weight Throw.

Simon Heys finished up the competition for Wilmington in the 5,000 Meter Run, where he finished 16th with a time of 14:30.96.
